This is a very late post, but it’s been such a busy month, I haven’t had much time to get this all written down. For the sake of time, I’m combining weekends 3/11 and 3/18.
3/11: After last weeks failed attempt to find a bike for Rey we were adamant to get him one on Saturday. We did some googling and found a sweet non-profit called Community Cycling Center on NE Alberta St and were pleasantly pleased with the experience. Rey test rode several bikes and found his new pride and joy. We paid a little more than expected for a used bike, but know the money goes toward a good cause in the community.
The rain finally stopped and the sun popped out so we met up with Amy and Logan for a little ride along the Eastbank Esplanade. Tried visiting the Saturday Market, but it was already done for the day.
3/12: On Sunday we decided to try our hand again at skiing and take another lesson. It was time change weekend so we got moving much later than expected and didn’t arrive to the slopes until after 10am, which meant we were on our own – no instructors. We made the most of it and had a few great runs down Buttercup.
3/17: St. Patrick’s Day outing! We’re not wild ones or anything, but we did grab some drinks and watched Beauty and the Beast at our favorite theater, Bagdad.
3/19: We ventured to the Hood again for a ski class. This time we had amazing weather and even attempted a new lift, Easy Rider. This lift was loads of fun and led us through some wooded areas. We did this run a few times, until I took a nice spill. The warmer temps had made the snowpack really hard and icy and we were getting tired so we called it a wrap and headed for beers. I’m pretty sure we’ll be hitting the slopes a couple more times before the season officially closes, which won’t be until mid-May.
Here’s a video recap of our awesome snowventures the past two weekends!
